I like that the book focused on a vision impaired child because you don't see that a lot in books anymore. I really could picture it all, which I hope comes across as a wonderful comment. Conklin did a wonderful job with her descriptions especially the sand castles and making the story believable. I'm sure it comes as no surprise what happens, but I did really like the interaction between Katy, Steve and Michael. I wanted to scream at her, seriously, but it all smoothed out (of course!) and through a course of events, she finds herself sharing her summer with Steve a boy at school that she has a crush on. In the beginning, Katy really irritated me with her obsession about being passed over for a summer job working with a vision impaired child named Michael. I devoured this series when I was a teenager and although I barely remembered this volume, I think I actually liked it better than when I read it the first time. I am so happy that I found this "Sweet Dreams" book on "Internet Archive".
